What’s in your Fitness Closet?

{Editor’s Note: This post is one that one that my husband will probably not like at all and might make him a bit, um, unhappy. For the sake of everyone involved, I would highly suggest that you – husband – look away from the computer right now and close this page. Everyone else – Read on!}

Fitness Closet

I have way too many fitness clothes. It’s true. I can’t seem to help myself. When I need a pick me up, a new workout top or bottom always seems to do the trick. Plus, some pieces are super cute and can double as regular day wear. I swear!!

Some of us crazy fitness enthusiasts / runners thought that it would be fun to share what exactly is in our fitness closet. I admit, I’m a little embarrassed by this but here goes. Please note that I purchased many of these pieces a LONG time ago. I also received some of these items for free for the purposes of reviewing or as a gift for attending an event. I was not compensated for this post. Where possible, I linked to the most recent version of the product which might not be the same model that I have.

Let’s start with the tops:

workout tanks

Hmmm, apparently I like blue and purple tanks. Starting from the bottom left: 1 Lululemon tank, 1 Reebok Workout Ready tank, 1 MPG Ziggy tank, Colosseum tank, 1 Athleta tank, 2 Lululemon scoop neck tanks, 2 Lululemon No Limits tanks, 1 Lululemon Cool Racerback Tank (long), 2 Lululemon Power-Y tanks.

workout tshirts

Workout Shirts: 1 Chobani Nike Dri-fit top, 1 UnderArmour Women What’s Beautiful T-shirt, 1 C9 by Champion top, 1 Athleta top, 1 adidas top, 1 UnderArmour Women coldblack top, 2 Reebok Workout Ready V-Neck, and 1 Reebok T-shirt.

long sleeve workout shirts

Top Row: Puma hoodie, Nike half-zip top, and Insport half-zip fleece top (this one is super old but I love it!). Bottom Row: All Oiselle – Big Run long-sleeve, Rundelicious top, and Stripey Scoop Neck long-sleeve.

workout capris

OK – the number of workout capris that I have is a little much. 2 Athleta relay capris (love love love them. Probably my favorite pair), 2 Lululemon wunderunders (1 crop and 1 pants), 1 Lululemon Gather & Crow crops, 1 American Apparel fitness pants, 1 Reebok capris, 1 Oakley capris, 1 Luluemon purple wunderunders, 1 Old Navy Active Compression Capris, and 2 Sugoi running pants.

Fitness accessories Collage

Left: Nike gloves, Smartwool beanie, 2 Sparkly Soul headbands, 1 Lululemon headband and 1 BAMR Band.

I have lots of wispy baby hairs that fly around even when I put my hair back or in a ponytail. It drives me crazy so headbands have become a huge workout friend. However, I can’t stand when said headbands move around. That’s why I love my BAMR Band, the purple with white polka dot headband on the bottom, which I received free to review. BAMR stands for bad-ass mother runner but the headband itself is bad-ass. It doesn’t budge and it doesn’t hurt my head.

Plus, a minimum of $1 from each order is donated to Every Mother Counts, a nonprofit dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for all moms.

Right: 3 Handful bras. Honestly, these bras have changed my life. Sorry if this is TMI but they have. They are super comfortable and are designed to flatter not flatten. I wear them to workout but also when I’m not working out. Obviously I change out of the sweaty one first. LOVE.

endorphin warrior training bracelet

OK, this may not be what you expect to find in a fitness wardrobe but I love bracelets and was so excited to receive one that I could wear while working out and that incorporates motivational mantras. I’ve been eying the Endorphin Warrior Training bracelet for quite a while and was excited to receive one free to review.

The bracelets feature a powerful key word or phrase like Believe, Focus, Courage, etc. I choose Unbreakable because frankly, after last year and my history of injuries, I would like be Unbreakable moving forward. The leather is extremely soft and comfortable. I’ve worn it every day since I received it and love seeing a reminder every day that I am strong and unbreakable.

Want to win your very own Endorphin Warrior Training Bracelet? Here’s your chance!

**Only entries entered through the Rafflecopter widget will count!**

Also, throughout March, Endorphin Warrior will donate $1 from every online order to support the Orangethrope Elementary Running Club, a local California elementary school running club for low-income children. They are also giving away a FREE dog tag/key ring to anyone who places an order this month. I really appreciate that Endorphin Warrior is giving back to its community and supporting kids in developing healthy and active lifestyles.

Love your closet. I have “clothes” but no where near the great stuff you have. Would love to have one of those bracelets!

  2. says

Ha, ha–you made me feel better about the quantity of my workout clothes! I only have three pairs of capris and I consider adding more, but it really does have me covered. And you have a nice collection of Oiselle stuff–my favorite! Here’s to hoping your husband didn’t log on today!

I honestly didn’t realize that I had that many capris. Oops! But I swear that they all serve different purposes. At least I think so :-)

  3. Wendy M says

Relentless….my new word after recently seeing one of those bracelets! And, I, too, have too many clothes!

  4. MJ says

Wow – so many choices for the bracelet! Here’s a list (if chosen, I’ll pick one ) – Unbreakable, Persevere, Courage, Breathe, Strength, Focus, Relentless, Believe. I suggest they do one that just says NOW or THIS MOMENT – I’d love that.

I love the #whatisbeautiful shirt – do you know if it is still available?

    • admin says

They didn’t sell the #whatsbeautiful shirts. I participated in the first round of their What’s Beautiful contest. During that contest, there was one woman who was severely injured and many of us rallied around to complete her challenges and post pictures for her cheering her on in recovery. UA Women decided to make a “Team Whitney” shirt and this is the back of it and they sent it to those of us who were rallying behind Whitney. Sorry for the long answer!

I love that you told your husband to look away, haha. Sounds like mine! I really should sort through my closet, I know there’s a lot of workout gear buried underneath that I never wear anymore. If I’m going to treat myself, it’s usually workout gear over regular clothes!

I would get Believe! My husband would hate this too :) I have the bottom of an armoire that I use in our den since that it where I get ready to run so early in the morning. He never looks in there but would be surprised! I have a good variety of Nike + Athleta plus random Target tanks that I pick up when they are on sale.

  7. Lauryn says

I am in LOVE with these Endorphin bracelets and have been dying to get one of my own! I would get the word BELIEVE on it. It would act as a constant reminder to believe in myself, my training, and give a confidence push when I want to give up. They are so powerful for the mental side of running!

  8. says

First, I’m pretty sure I have way more running shirts (hangs head in shame) but it’s fun to see all the stuff laid out.
Second, I love these bracelet and would LOVE to win one :)

  9. says

I LOVE what’s in your closet. I seriously don’t think I can share mine, my husband might then see exactly how bad my #luluhoarding problems are. I can sorta hide it now by shoving everything into my closet/drawers. If he saw it all laid out, well – then it would look pretty bad LOL. 😉

I would love one of those BAMR bands, I also have problems with fly aways, and used to hairspray headbands in place. I loved your bright blue capris so much I bought myself a pair. I really want to do a post like this, when I find the time to photograph everything. I’ll also include my rash vest and wetsuit 😉

You forgot your shoes! And jackets! Or is that overload? 😉

I forgot shoes!! I even had a picture too! And my wetsuit! I can’t believe I forgot those! You totally should do a post. It made me realize how much workout clothes I actually have. Oopsy :-)

  11. says

Awesome post. Thanks for making me feel better about my workout … closet. Yep. We finished our basement and added a closet, which was quickly bogarted by my sport bras, running socks, tees, long sleeve tees, pants, shorts, skorts, yoga towels, rock gym gear and hydration belt. I am fascinated by your capri variety – i have just one pair, versus maybe 7 pair of full-length tights. Maybe our long winters here are to blame?

Jealous of your workout wardrobe a little! I love purple and blue as well! And so many capri’s! Awesome! If your husband is reading these are all highly essential and necessary!

Always fun to read a post and say “Hey I have that” I’m wearing my @REEBOK shirt right now actually. I’m jealous of all your capri pants. Mine are slowly dying and I’m soooo picky. Plus I’m in the process of trying to lose 30 pounds I gained over the last year so I’m hesitant to invest in anything yet.

Holy moly that is a lot of capris =) HAHA But it looks a lot like all the different shorts I have – loose, fitting, short, longer…I like having different types b/c I base it on how i’m feeling and what type of run I’m doing!!

I know!! I had no idea I had that many. Well, I kind of did but they are all have different purposes I swear! The funny thing is that I didn’t use to be a capri girl. Hated wearing them. I guess I’ve had a change of heart. haha.

  15. says

There are so many that I love.

    My top 3 though:

I’ve started working around the corner from the mall & a discount store, more recently when I’m feeling down about my workouts I’ve been going and picking up a cute top to run/workout in, gives me something to look forward to!

  16. says

I’ve been looking at the Relay Capris from Athleta and wondering if I want to invest the $$. You said you love them…are they worth the $$? I’m also considering a pair of saucony capris which are half the price. Dilemma.

I do really like the Relay capris. They are my favorite pair. I like how they fit, especially in the waist and I don’t have to adjust them and it doesn’t pinch. There’s also some mess behind the knees which I like because I tend to overheat. Is there an Athleta store near you where you can check them out?

  17. says

My wardrobe is pathetic! I need workout clothes!! I am one of those moms who buy and buy for my kids and don’t buy for myself because I feel guilty! Sad I know!! So if anyone would like to donate, I wear a medium! Haha! I love endorphin warrior bracelets and want one sooooo bad!! Love your post! Don’t feel bad, if I could, I would have that much or more!! xo

  18. says

I love Oiselle! I just recently ordered some stuff and I am so obsessed. As for the bracelet, I too would go with Unbreakable. I’m coming off a stress fracture and I’m so glad to be back.

  19. Morgan says

I love these bracelets!!! I would either choose “Strength” or “Conquer” as the word to have engraved on the bracelet! “Strength” because I have come a long way in my recovery and I have gained a lot of STRENGTH in doing so; “Conquer” because now that I have come so far in my recovery I just need to CONQUER the last bit of it!!!

  1. […] This isn’t exactly a new product and I’ve previously expressed my love for Handful Bras. They are incredibly comfortable to wear and fit just right. Handful is also an approved mastectomy […]
