Kettlebells are one of those tools that I wish that I worked out with and knew how to use properly. For that reason, I’m thankful for friends like Taylor who’s here today to share her wealth of knowledge and experience with kettlebells. Plus, she creates awesome gifs!
Check out this fun kettlebell workout that she’s put together just for the holidays!
This is my most favorite time of the year. It really is wonderful. Of course, coming and sharing a workout here makes it more special too. A big Thank you to Christine for allowing me to share my passion for fitness, more specifically, kettlebells, with you.
This isn’t my first time popping in to Love, Life, Surf, but for those of you who don’t know me, I’m Kindal. A NASM personal trainer and kettlebell certified instructor for my own studio in Charleston. I also blog over at LiftingRevolution. Click over, come say hey!
So like I mentioned, I have this passion for kettlebells. They have changed my life and I could go on and on about their benefits and why you should grab one and start swinging.
But I won’t. Instead, I’m going to continue my love of the holidays by sharing a little holiday inspired kettlebell workout with you.
Okay, it’s not so “little”. But it is fun and festive and I encourage you to give it a try.
The 12 Days Of Christmas Kettlebell Workout
I’m sure you’re familiar with the song, “The 12 Days Of Christmas”? Which, random side note, did you know that if someone actually carried out the song it would cost $27,673? Insane.
This workout won’t cost that. Promise. The only thing you’ll need is a kettlebell, maybe 2.
How This Workout Works:
You’re going to treat it just like the song. There are 12 exercises, the 1st exercise, a Turkish Get-up, you do just 1 rep. Then for day 2, you’ll do 2 reps of that exercise and 1 Get-up. By the 12th day of Christmas you will be on your 12th set, completing a waterfall rep cycle of each move (12 reps of 12, 11 of 11… 1 of 1).
Great it’s workout time!
Let’s pretend that each starts with “On the _ Day of Christmas, my trainer gave to me …”
- Turkish Get-up (each round alternate with side)
- Goblet Squats
- Snatches (Per Side)
- Halos (2/side)
- GOLDEN PRESSES (Per side)
- High Pulls
- Kettlebell Toe Touches
- Windmills (4/side)
- Cherry Pickers
- Kettlebell Swings
- Squats With Kick
- Kettlebell Push-Ups
Before I show the moves, I want to quickly stress the importance of proper form!
If you’re not sure, search out of kettlebell trainer and ask for help. Feel free to shoot me a message! And if you don’t have a kettlebell? No biggie, feel free to use a dumbbell instead.
