I know that it’s pretty cliche but the sunsets in Hawaii are breathtaking.

We’ve been staying on the West side of Oahu – perfect for viewing the sun’s slow descent and disappearance into the ocean. On many nights, it’s a blazing orange-red ball that melts into the ocean, leaving a brilliantly colored sky behind. On other evenings, as the sun disappears, a puff of clouds remains in its shadow. The clouds still reflect the colors and light from the sun, giving a hint to the third-dimension that exists beyond the horizon. It’s kind of cool.

I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to these sunsets. It’s sad to say that our time in Hawaii is coming to an end.

I’m also slooooooowly easing my way back into blogging and social media. It’s been an interesting month to say the least but I have so much to share. So this week, there will likely be one post, maybe two, on some cool events taking place this month and then next week I’ll catch you up on all things Hawaii.

Sound like a plan? I hope so. I’ve missed you!

Hope you all had a great (long) weekend!

It will be interesting to see how we manage to keep the balance now that we’re back. I mean, we’ve been back for 2 days and I feel like our vacation was eons ago! Definitely trying. It’s hard but I think that there were some good lessons this past month.

We’ve missed you too! Were you staying in Ko Olina? We were there in January, and these pictures remind me of the beautiful sunsets we enjoyed from our lanai. Isn’t Hawaii awesome? We’re hoping to take a trip to Maui early next year before our youngest turns 2 (gotta take advantage of infant-in-arms!), and I can’t wait!! Enjoy the rest of your trip. Can’t wait to hear all about it!

Holy cow those photos are stunning! I’ve missed you so much Christine. Is that weird? Usually when people take a break from blogging it’s almost a relief that my reader seems to be a little less full, but your light and spirit genuinely make this world better, and I’ve missed your words and thoughts.

I didn’t know you were going for that long! Wow. I can’t wait to hear more. Hawaii is on my bucket list. My husband has been there a few times already but he said he’s game for more. Someday.

Yeah, I didn’t really mention how long we would be gone for. Felt extravagant but I knew that it was an incredible opportunity for us to be able to do it. I hope you do get to visit Hawaii one day. It is a beautiful place and I have lots to share over the next week or two, mainly so that I can relive those moments and pretend I’m still there :-)
