If there’s a runner in your life, this is a gift that they’ll actually use. This strength training program from Runner’s Connect was designed specifically for runners to help you become a stronger, more efficient (and injury-free!) runner and it’s great for all levels from beginners to more experienced runners. If you know me, you know that I’m a big proponent of strength training and believe that it’s an important part of training.
I am legitimately obsessed with these leg warmers. They are super warm and comfy. You can pull it down to cover your foot (there’s a little cut-out for your heel) to keep you extra snug and warm. And when you need to put on some shoes, just scrunch it up over your ankle. They are a great way to get some additional use out of your capri length leggings this winter too!
I was gifted this bra over the summer and it’s quickly become one of my favorites. The fabric is super smooth and soft, giving it a second-skin feel. The crossback design makes the bra super supportive without feeling constrictive. Plus it comes in so many fun colors.
OK, I know. We all have a bajillion water bottles but come on! This one is so cute! It’s a great gift for your fitness bestie.
I know, this seems like a weird thing to include in a gift guide but if you care about health and fitness, you know that nutrition plays a key role in keeping us strong and healthy. But sometimes, buying high quality, organic, non-GMO products can be expensive. Enter Thrive Market.
Think of it as a Costco for healthy food and natural products where you can purchase at wholesale prices. Their goal is to make healthy eating affordable for all. To that end, for every membership purchased, Thrive will gift a membership to a low-income family, teacher, veteran or student. How cool?! Think of it as a two-for-one gift!
Plus, if you’re doing the Whole 30, this is a great resource to have at your fingertips.
I was recently introduced to SKINS at Rise.Run.Retreat. They were a sponsor of the retreat this year and gifted each of us a pair of the RY400 Recovery Tights. There’s a unique design to the tight that helps promote circulation and recovery.
They are great to wear post-workout. I put them on after the Leaf Peepers Half and I have to credit them for helping me recover quickly. They’ve also been a huge help during taper for the Philly Half when my hamstring started to act up. I was worried that they would be super tight and make me feel like my legs were in sausage casings but they don’t. They’re super comfortable throughout, including the waist.
This is a great top to wear on your way to and from the gym or yoga studio. Actually, it’s a great top to wear anytime. I love the fit (I own two!) — loosely fit without feeling constrictive or too baggy. The material is a soft fleecy material and the cowl neck adds just a little unique flare that makes the top nicer than your regular sweatshirt.
(I am a KUHL ambassador but I purchased these tops myself.)
Reverence Apparel is a local company that makes a line of super cool yoga-inspired graphic tees and tanks designed to cultivate the habit of being confidence and empowered and to spread the good vibes and love. They’re great for yoga and just about any other fitness class. My favorite is the Live Simply. Love Generously muscle tank.
9. Sarah Marie Design Studio
If you have a runner in your life, you’ll want to check out Sarah Marie Design Studio’s Ts, tanks, sweatshirts as well as emoji mugs (love these!), cards and poster. Basically, her stuff encapsulates everything that runners think (i.e. Run all the miles. Eat all the tacos) and positive words to inspire your workout (Positive Vibes Negative Splits). My favorite is elite marathoner shirt, listing the names of the great women marathoners of our times — Paula, Joan, Desi, Grete, Kara, Shalane and Deena. Just need to add Molly to the list 🙂
As you may have read here or on Instagram, I’ve recently become a headcase during this half marathon training cycle. I’ve been working on my mental fitness and this book by Matt Fitzgerald (along with Mind Gym) is one of the best ones that I’ve read. Matt is a great sports writer and he combines tons of great stories to illustrate principles that you can practice to build your own mental fitness.
I’ve raved about Zensah compression socks before and I’m going to rave about them again. They are the best compression socks that I’ve tried. I do wear them when I run and find that they give my calves and ankles (and feet if I’m wearing compression socks) just the extra bit of support that I need to stave off cranky, tight muscles and achy tendons.
P.S: As a Zensah ambassador, I have a special discount code for you! Use the code ZSFF10 for 10% off your order.
