My family and I spent the last week in Playa Guiones in Nosara, Costa Rica. This is the third time that I’ve visited Nosara and each time, I think that I fall in love with it a little bit more. This time, I got to share it with my kids.

I don’t usually like hot weather, and I definitely hate bugs and mosquitoes, mostly because I tend to be the one to attract their attention. But I hardly notice either of these things when I’m there.

I think that it’s the combination of the beach and the scenery, the surfers and yogis, and the beautiful spectacles of nature and the ridiculous sunsets. I mean, it’s magical at dusk. I’ve never seen colors in the sky like these before.

My city slicker kids became beach bums – covered in sand from head to toe, ruddy from the sun. If they weren’t at the beach digging holes, hunting for shells or drawing pictures, they were doing cannonballs in the pool. My younger son, who normally complains about having to walk 50 feet from our home, happily walked and hiked all over town. They also were quite taken with the gecko that had taken residence in our home.

It’s always hard to leave but I know (I hope) that I will be back soon.

How was your week?

Those pictures are just amazing! I’m so happy to hear you had such a wonderful time. My husband and I keep hearing about how great Costa Rica is so we just may need to plan a trip there. Who knows? Maybe I’ll take up surfing :-)

Oh my gosh, Christine! What a gorgeous spot. I can see why it was hard to leave.
My week was less sunny and a bit cooler than yours, but I am hopeful we will soon start to warm up. :)

Playa Guiones is part of the top beaches in the pacific coast for enjoying the waves . Many Surfers from around the world have been living in Nosara and Guiones since some local people show to travelers the amazing waves at early Morning and the end of the afternoon.

You show us really nice photos, thanks :)
