Or not really a subtle hint at all…
You see, my birthday is coming up and a few family members have asked me what I would like for my birthday. When the kids ask me, I tell them that I want something homemade, preferably drawings in my special book. I love having their drawings collected in one place and seeing how their drawings have changed over the years.
But I can’t ask everyone for a drawing. The thing is that there really isn’t that much that I want. Or the things that I want can’t really be purchased, you know? When asked, I draw a complete blank for ideas.
I decided to crowdsource my birthday wish list and asked for suggestions from Twitter and Facebook friends. What? You don’t immediately take to social media when you need an answer to a question or can’t come up with ideas?
Alison suggested a DSLR, spa day, phone, iPad, and/or bag.
Kristen suggested fun bracelets. I love that idea as bracelets are definitely my accessory of choice.
Carla suggested a beautiful, personalized necklace with my kids’ own handwriting inscribed on a pendant.
Shell suggested clothing while Nicole suggested workout apparel. My plan was to ask for some new clothing but then I started looking and got overwhelmed. I ended up looking at yoga pants again. I’m just going to ignore the fact that my workout clothes are spilling out of my drawers!
@trainingwithra suggested a heart rate monitor, specifically the RC3 GPS. It’s beautiful.
Tamara has the best answer of the day, I think - A day to myself; farmer’s market trip, a local hike, a massage and a chocolate on my pillow when I get home! #heaven!
And then Maureen just made me jealous that she’s going to see John Mayer for her birthday present.
In the end, I think we came up with a good list. It’s a mix of workout clothes, a bag, some fitness gear, jewelry, and a photography course. Maybe also a hint about a trip I want to take.
Ahem. You can see my birthday wish list right here on Pinterest.
