This week, I’ve had such a hard time keeping the days straight. I swear, I thought that today was Thursday but it’s Friday and I almost forgot about Friday Round-Up!! The week’s been crazy and I haven’t been able to read as many blogs as I would have liked so let’s keep this post short and sweet, shall we? Plus, it’s getting late and I need to get to sleep so that I can continue stalking some of my favorite bloggers who are in town for BlogHer. Just kidding. I promise I’m not really stalking. I’m sad I’m not actually attending the conference but one of the perks of having BlogHer in town is that I can still meet-up with some blogging friends. I am excited to meet some folks in real life.
Age vs. Fear: What’s there to be afraid of?
Michelle over at Callia’s Corner brought up a great question with this post. Have your fears intensified as you’ve grown older? For me, it’s a little bit of both. Yes in that I’m older and I’m more aware of the dangers and consequences of our actions. No in that I’ve started to face my fears more in the last year or so and have realized that sometimes, they aren’t so bad.
Lessons on Being Kick-Ass
Cat over at Breakfast to Bed shares her lessons on being kick-ass. Frankly, sometimes I have a hard time believing that Cat ever needed lessons on this. Plus she shares a recipe for a ridiculous treat: Bruleed Banana, Chia, and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups.
Sexy, air-brushed fitness model photos: inspirational or disheartening?
Tamara over at fitknitchick talks about an interesting topic. Images of sexy, glamourous fitness models have been popping up all over the internet, especially with the rise of Pinterest. While some find these images positive and motivational, others find them disheartening. What do you think? Go over the join the discussion!
Working Mama
I’m really excited about this upcoming series from Lisa at The Splattered Apron. It’s a constant struggle being a working mom (or dad). This series will pull together stories from different working mamas out there and hopefully create a community through which we can support each other.
Lastly, to start your weekend off, here’s a great video that Quiksilver put together. Awaken the spirit and enjoy the ride!
Did you read anything good this week? Are you going to BlogHer and should I stalk you?
P.S. Don’t forget to head over the check out my Facebook page. Enjoy your weekend!!

Great post, no? You know, I almost didn’t do this post because I realized it was Friday at like 1am (I know – that sleeping thing still eludes me) but then thought that Ilene would be disappointed
Have fun at BlogHer and thanks for including me in your weekly roundup! Being a working momma, I’d love hear storied from other working moms. I struggle with working full time everyday. While I want nothing more the stay home with the kids, finances (at this time) just won’t allow it. Have a great weekend!

I loved your post and so happy to share it. I’ve been mulling over a post about my fear of the ocean for about 6 months now and your post made me think about it a little bit more. Being a working mom is hard. I’m looking forward to seeing how other moms handle it. I go back and forth between wanting to work and not wanting to work. It’s hard!
That’s so fun that you can catch bloggers in town for BlogHer, even though you’re not there. But you are going to FitBloggin, right? I’m excited to meet up then! Great links, btw… I missed Tamara’s discussion.. heading over there now!

Thanks so much for including my post in your round up. It really is an interesting subject to think about and discuss. And since I’ve been on holidays this week and have missed my blog reading, your suggestions are a great place to start!
Tamara recently posted..Endurance leg workout: do it for me?
Thanks Tamara. Your post definitely made me think about those images and what makes those different (or not) from all the other images of women that are out there. Thanks for starting the discussion. Hope you had a great holiday!
Love that Quiksilver video! I wish I was a dramatically better surfer! Great round up!
