Little boys and fountains – they seem to be drawn to each other like moths to a flame. Jasper is definitely the instigator. Ever since he was little, he has loved the water. When we traveled to Italy with him when he was two and a half years old, we literally had to stop and visit with every fountain we saw. And if you’ve ever been to Italy, you know that there are a lot of fountains.
Everett, on the other hand, is a little more cautious in some respects. He doesn’t like running through sprinklers but give him a bucket and he’s happy as a clam filling up and emptying his bucket all day long.
However, put Jasper and Everett together and it’s a totally different story. Maybe it’s the brother thing but they seem to egg each other on. On July 4th, we found ourselves at Flushing Meadows Corona Park where there is the famous Unisphere and…fountains. This is what ensued…
Not surprising, I know, but the expressions and reactions on their faces were truly priceless. Both covering their mouths with their hands in excitement as they slowly inched further and further into the spray of the fountains and then quickly dashed out. At other times, linking hands to run through the water together, the little one always looking to his big brother. At one point, Jasper mustered up the courage to sprint through the sprays to the other side and to the base of the Unisphere.
Pure bliss. When was the last time you remember experiencing bliss like this?

They do look joyous! There is just something about water and little boys right?
There really is, isn’t there? Their expressions and giggles were priceless. Thanks for letting me capture this memory!
Their expressions are precious. My son would have been right in there with them! My girls can be complicated in that girl kind of way – but it takes so little to bring joy to my little boy!
For some reason, I didn’t realize you had a son? I kind of love my little boys for that reason – the uncomplicatedness of it all.
Look at how much fun they’re having! And that fountain? Looks like a totally awesome one!
It is a pretty awesome fountain. I was very tempted to run through it myself!
Love those pictures! And I’ve been to Italy, there ARE tons of fountains! That’s probably where my kids got their love for fountains from
The spray of a fountain on a hot day – is there anything better? Judging by the look on their faces – probably not!
Definitely nothing better. It was such a hot day and it was the perfect relief. I wanted to run through that fountain too!!
I want to run through the fountains with them. What a great time. I love when my girls can share in joy like this. I hope they will always be able to look to each other for fun, comfort and love.
I think that’s been the sweetest part about this summer – watching the two of them grow in their relationship together, share job together and lean on each other. It’s amazing especially little Everett calling after his big brother.
My 2-year-old daughter loves all the foundations. ALL THE FOUNTAINS! She calls them “splashes” and we have to stop and investigate every one we encounter. And those splash parks? Pure heaven. Take her to one of those and she could run through it all day.
Ah, to be young again and take joy in the simplest pleasures…
Whoops! That was supposed to be all the “fountains.” Fountains, foundations… whatever.
That’s OK. My husband just pointed out that I did the same in the post – foundations for fountains. Splash parks are pure heaven. I would love to experience that kind of bliss again for the first time.
I wanna play in the fountain! That looks fun. Pure Bliss is Priceless. That’s cool you were able to capture those moments on camera for lasting memories.
I love what children teach us about just living in the moment! No hurry to get anywhere, no worries about what tomorrow brings. Great pictures!
What beautiful photos!!
Yes! Their expressions ARE priceless! You can SEE the excitement in their eyes! I love they way you put the collage together. Kids and water go hand in hand.
Ohmyheart that happy smile! Love!
{And such a good mama letting them live it up in that moment! Inspiring!}
Awesome action shots. And they totally look like they were having a blast!
Those are amazing photos… especially the one with the crocs when they are walking together.I’m so excited for you that you had your camera. LOL.
How cute!
Oh the joy of being a boy! How sweet they are
super cute.
That is adorable! I love watching big brother/little brother relationships! My two are the very best of friends and I so love it. Now I want to find a fountain and let them have at it.
I loved sprinklers and fountains as a kid. Your boys look like they love the water and the spray too. So sweet, the both of them together.
They do look very happy! I can remember my girls having a little bit of a fear of water/sprinklers when they were first introduced to them, but my boy? He just runs right in!
